Sexual Health

Sexual health is an aspect of our overall wellness…

that typically is not spoken about. Muscles, nerves, and overall pelvic health can affect sexual health, and there are many ways that physical therapy can address issues causing pain, affecting function, or limiting pleasure. Your pelvic floor muscles need to be able to relax well (to allow blood flow or penetration), to contract well, and when this does not happen, sex can be painful or erectile function can be impaired. Research has shown that strengthening the pelvic floor can increase sexual function, and relaxing painful, tense muscles can also improve sexual health. We can help you figure out what exactly your body needs.
